If you’re living with hair loss, the first thing to know is that you’re not alone. One or a combination of many things, from age, genetics, and conditions such as alopecia, might be responsible for your hair loss.

Statistics show that more than twelve million Americans used some type of hair growth product in 2020, signaling that millions of Americans are dealing with hair loss to some degree.

How does PRP work?

PRP is an all-natural hair loss solution derived from your blood. Your blood is made up of red and white blood cells and platelets. The primary role of platelets is to help your blood clot and promote healing when you hurt yourself.

PRP treatments take advantage of the natural healing power of your platelets. During a procedure, we draw a small sample of your blood and put it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other components.

Your platelets are then collected and injected into areas where you’re experiencing hair loss. These injections trigger an increase in blood flow to these areas, which helps accelerate the healing of your hair follicles and restart hair growth.

Initial treatment typically involves a session once a month for three consecutive months. Maintenance sessions are also crucial every 4-6 months.

Who is PRP for?

PRP can be used for all types of hair loss. However, it has historically proven to be more effective in treating certain types of hair loss than others.

PRP is most commonly used to treat conditions that cause damage to your hair follicles, such as alopecia. Alopecia is a condition that damages your hair follicles, causing them to shrink, resulting in hair loss.

Is PRP safe?

PRP is a relatively safe procedure. Using your blood for the treatment eliminates the risk of getting infectious diseases. During treatment, you might experience mild pain, swelling, or scalp tenderness, which are temporary.

PRP may not be for you if you have some form of blood disorder or are on medications such as blood thinners. Please consult with us before undergoing PRP treatment for your hair loss.
